In the absence of Mike Meyer, Theresa Reyes presided.

July’s photo assignment was “Stripes.” Pictures were viewed.  The winning photo was “Pink Sonata” by Marilyn Ginsburg.  Second place was “Paper Kite Butterfly” by Mark Schwiderski.    The group voted to no longer print 4×6” prints and the pictures will be viewed from the website.  Next month’s assignment is “Sunrises, Sunsets.”

Dawn Haley presented the “Focus Minute” on the topic framing.  Many examples were viewed and suggestions made to improve framing skills.

Dawn Haley reminded everyone of the Photo Meetup on July 26th, 7 p.m., at Odd Fellows Park in Hutchinson.  She will have two models available.  She encouraged people to attend and if it is successful, would be willing to schedule other Meetups on different topics.

The 2010 Photography Club Photo Exhibit will be held October 21st at the Victorian Inn, from 6-8 pm.  Members were encouraged to actively participate.   A count of photographs that will be exhibited will be taken at the August meeting.  There will again be a people’s choice award but there will also be a judge’s choice.  Mike Meyer contacted Dennis Nelson of Nelson Photography, Glencoe for this job.  The following email has been sent to the members by Cindy Teichert:

3rd Annual Photo Exhibit to be held Thursday, October 21, 2010 (6pm to 8pm) at the Best Western Victorian Inn – Windsor Room

Need participation commitments on displaying photos by our August Photography Club Meeting.

Darcy Veach reported that the Coffee Company may have a spot to display photographs.  She will investigate this further and will find out who might be interested in displaying their work.

Mark Benton will present the “Focus Minute” in August on the topic Manual Settings.
